Fishing Trolley
Carrying all your fishing gear on your trip will be made a lot easier by using a fishing trolley. You can load all your gear and other stuff on the trolley and pull it along as you head on to your favorite fishing site. However, before you purchase a trolley, you should consider the different types of trolleys out there and the advantages of getting one.
Why Get a Fishing Trolley?
People grow old, but the love for fishing never fades away. We used to carry our tackle box, bait, and the rest of your equipment without any problems. However, as we grow older this becomes a bit of a grueling task. Your back may begin to ache or you just have difficulty traveling over a certain distance with your stuff on your back or in your hands.
A trolley will prove useful not only to those who have physical challenges but even to the average fishing enthusiast. You can load a lot more gear on a trolley than all the weight you can ever carry on your own. It makes the trip to your favorite fishing grounds a lot more convenient in spite of the load you have to bear with you.
Types of Trolleys
There are many different types of trolleys sold in stores today. Manufacturers tend to try and out do each other and produce a workable product that suits every need that customers may have. However, you can classify trolleys according to some pretty basic characteristics. You have manual folding trolleys, electric type ones, barrow style, and upright standing style trolleys. Each type of trolley will have its own advantages and drawbacks.
Manual Trolleys
These trolleys work pretty much like any other trolley where you put all your stuff in and drag the load as you walk around. Some models of this type of trolleys are collapsible while many others are foldable. Some models even come with removable wheels so you can adjust your trolley to match the terrain.
Seat Box Trolleys
Seat box trolleys look like your standard trolleys complete with the single handle that you use to pull the entire load. It has a box frame where you can put all your gear and a pair of out rig arms to support the weight. Like any other upright trolley, the wheels are wider than the receptacle or box where your gear and equipment go.
Carryall Trolleys
Another type of upright fishing trolley is called a carryall trolley. Instead of a box frame, it has a tubular frame where a tubular platform is fitted. You can opt to put a folding chair instead of the tubular platform or get a carryall trolley that can compensate for both the chair and the platform.
Electric Trolleys
For those of us who find it hard to haul your gear even if they are on a fishing trolley, an electric type one that you don’t have to push or pull will work wonders. These models are powered by electricity so you don’t have muscle your way around with the entire weight of your gear. The only drawback is that at one point or another, this device will lose power.
Barrow/Cart Type Trolleys
In contrast to upright trolleys, there are cart type or barrow type trolleys that are also sold in stores. In lieu of the usual pair of wheels and the upright standing position, you have a trolley that looks like a cart that you can drag around on four wheels. Some people are a lot more comfortable using this type of trolley. Some cart types even have two wheels and a pair of support legs for better stability when keeping it steady on the ground.
Common Issues
In spite of the variety of designs and advantages, fishing trolleys also have a few drawbacks. When you’re out shopping for one, be sure to find one that will be easy to steer especially when it’s fully loaded. You should also consider storage options, which means you choose whether you want a collapsible one or a folding trolley.
Another common issue that you should consider is the capacity of a fishing trolley to go over different terrain. Some trolleys will be a big pain if you haul it over rough ground or sandy areas. You should consider your favorite fishing spots and pick the fishing trolley that will match the said terrain.
